How a seed of desire grew into weed ?
A family could be small or big, but if the intent of the family members
is good, then there will not be any scarcity of happiness in that family.
But, if any seed of desire grows in any member of that family which is not aligned with the law of nature or in other words inclined towards righteousness then it would lead to conflicts.
We grew up in environments that teach us the way to live life through storytelling.
Mahabharata, which is considered to be one of the major ancient epics, written in Sanskrit by Sage Vedvyas explains such an incident and also gives the result of having such a seed of desire growing into weed.
Let us discover more about such incidents of Mahabharata.
There were two kings named Dhritarashtra and Pandu who were Brothers, where Dhrutrarashtra has 100 sons and they are called Kauravas, led by Duryodhana and Pandu has 5 sons and they are called Pandavas, led by Yudhister.
The dynasty of the kings is explained in a pictorial view below: to understand better the relations between the members of the family.
Kauravas and Pandavas have their territories to rule their kingdoms
which is been distributed. Kauravas's maternal uncle named Shakuni, who is an
expert in gamblings proposed a game of dice between Kauravas and Pandavas who
are cousins.
The game was started with the deal that, the loser will surrender their
territory of kingdom and wealth to the winner for 13 years in which 1 year they
have to hide their identity in the exile. And their wealth and kingdom will be
returned back after 13 years.
Duryodhana wins the game with the help of his maternal uncle who is an expert
in Gamblings. Pandavas had to hand over the kingdom and their wealth and go on
exile for 13 years.
After 13 years, when they returned to their kingdom, Kauravas refuse to
give back their territory, and Kaurava's hunger (which is the seed of desire)
for captivating the territories of Pandavas was the cause of the war between
the cousins.
The war was declared and a place called Kurukshetra is been chosen for
the war. The army’s of Kauravas and Pandavas reached the battleground with all
their supporters and war equipment.
